History and description
The manufacturer Gustav Franck, a descendant of Johann Heinrich Franck , had his villa designed by Eugen Albertz . The residential building erected in 1876 is a cubic, regularly structured plastered building in the tradition of classicism . It has a flat hipped roof . The enclosure of the property that adjoined the chicory factory to the north opposite the Ludwigsburg train station has also been preserved .
The villa has a stable and coach house with a laundry room north of the villa. It has a brick front with five axes. There is an ornamental gable above the middle section. The outer shape of this outbuilding goes back to designs by Albert Bauder from 1890.
Bauder was also commissioned to design a later town house for Gustav Franck, which was built at 20 Pflugfelder Straße .
