pgAdmin is an open source software for the development and administration of PostgreSQL databases and derived databases such as EnterpriseDB Postgres Plus Advanced Server or Greenplum . A graphical user interface facilitates the administration of databases. The editor for SQL queries contains a graphical EXPLAIN which can be used to create higher-performance queries. With a native connection to PostgreSQL, the GUI enables access to the entire PostgreSQL functionality.
The software is offered in versions for the Linux , Mac OS X , FreeBSD , Solaris and Windows operating systems .

development
pgAdmin is an open source project. Further development is currently being coordinated by Dave Page, a senior software architect at EnterpriseDB. The software is also the basis for EnterpriseDB's management tools. With this extension, an unlimited number of servers can be controlled simultaneously. pgAdmin is programmed in Python and jQuery with Bootstrap, using the Flask Framework .
Another PHP- based administration tool for PostgreSQL is phpPgAdmin .
