Phanyllis group
With the provisional names named Phanyllis group , also Phanyllis class was a group of Attic vase painter of the Black figure style .
The Phanyllis group was at the end of the 6th century BC. Active. It produced a large amount of lekyths . These were based on the shape of the older, tapered shapes. Sometimes there are patterns on the neck. In addition, the old palmettes are still presented on the neck. Sometimes palmettes are also shown, but these have been reduced to ray or leaf-like strokes. The quality of the vases varies considerably, but is rarely good or better. Even if originality is sometimes sought, the group generally only presents uninspired mass-produced goods. Common scenes included warrior farewells and Dionysus between two eyes. The Hahn group worked in a similar way to the Phanyllis group . It was named after the Phanyllis painter .
