Phia Ménard

Phia Ménard (* 11 February 1971 as Philippe Ménard in Nantes ) is a French performer , juggler and director .

life and work

Ménard started out as a circus performer . He learned to juggle with Jérôme Thomas , devoted himself to modern dance and performance and founded the Compagnie Non Nova in 1998 . Philippe Ménard has been a woman since 2008 and goes by the name Phia Ménard. She has been working with ice, water and air since 2008. In 2014 Phia Ménard was honored with the Chevalier de l ' Ordre des Arts et des Lettres .

PPP (2008), Vortex (2011), Belle d'Hier (2015), Les Os Noirs (2017) and Et In Arcadia Ego (2018) are performances by Phia Ménard. The performance Immoral Tales - Part 1 - The Mother House was performed at documenta 14 in 2017 .
