Phil Mogg

Phil Mogg (* 15. April 1948 in London as Phillip John Mogg ) is an English musician and singer of the group UFO .

Life

Mogg founded the band Hocus Pocus in 1969 together with guitarist Mick Bolton, bassist Pete Way and drummer Andy Parker , which was soon renamed UFO . Until today he is the only continuous member of the band.

During a temporary break from UFO in the late 90s, he performed together with Way between 1997 and 2000 under the name Mogg / Way . He also ran the Sign of 4 project . After the reunification of UFOs, he worked again as a singer in the recordings for new albums.

Mogg inspired singers Joe Cocker , Steve Marriott and Eric Burdon , as well as guitarists like Eric Clapton , Alvin Lee and Peter Green and the beginnings of the band Free .
