Phil Wilde
Phil Wilde (born April 6, 1967 ) is a Belgian Eurodance producer and DJ . He is best known as the producer and songwriter of 2 Unlimited and Kate Ryan .
Career
Wilde began a career as a DJ in Ghent as early as the 1980s . Together with Tom Miro he published his first title under the name Uniform . In 1989 he also started the dance project “Bizz Nizz” with Jean-Paul de Coster , with their songs We're Gonna Catch You! and Don't Miss the Partyline became popular in Europe.
2 Unlimited
From 1991 to 1996 and from 1998 to 1999 he was the producer of the globally successful dance act 2 Unlimited . During this time he worked on many top 10 hits, including the single No Limit , which made it to number 1 in the Netherlands , Switzerland , Austria , Sweden , Norway , France , Great Britain and many other European countries. The group disbanded in 1996, but reunited for a year in 1998.
The debut single Get Ready for This (1991), which became an evergreen, was particularly influential . During its activity, 2 Unlimited sold around 20 million records.
Kate Ryan
In 2000 he met 20-year-old Katrien Verbeeck from Flanders at one of her then numerous appearances. He was so enthusiastic about her that he immediately signed her. In 2001 her first single Scream For More was released under the stage name Kate Ryan . In addition to Wilde, Andy Janssens also worked with us . The single was an unexpected success in Belgium, in the singles charts it was at number 9, in the dance charts even at number 2. In 2002 Kate Ryan had her international breakthrough with the single Désenchantée (a cover version of the singer's very successful title in France in 1991 Mylène Farmer ), which made it to number 1 in Belgium and to the top 10 in numerous other European countries such as Germany , Spain , Poland , Austria and Sweden. The debut album Different was also able to assert itself on the European market with around 250,000 copies sold (EU-wide). With the second album Stronger in 2004, sales dropped again until Kate Ryan ended her collaboration with Phil Wilde and Andy Janssens in 2005 and looked for new producers. Up to this point in time around two million records had been sold.
