- Different Stronger

Different is the debut album by Belgian singer Kate Ryan and was first released on June 17th, 2002 in Belgium. With sales of around 250,000 records across Europe, it is Ryan's most successful album and has received awards in several European countries, such as B. Platinum in Poland and Gold in Belgium.

background

Kate Ryan was discovered while performing by producer Phil Wilde in 2000. This took them under contract and in February 2001 the first single with the title Scream for More was released (ninth place in Belgium). An album was not planned at the time, so work on a debut album was only started after the following singles UR (My Love) and Désenchantée . After the success of Désenchantée in Belgium (six weeks at number one), the album was also able to convince with the respectable success of short-term to number one for a foreign release. In the following months Kate Ryan quickly became known in Europe and North America with her song Désenchantée and was able to place in the top 10 in many countries (EU single charts: # 9). A success of the album was therefore also considered certain, which was largely confirmed. Other single releases were also able to place in the top 10 of the single charts in some countries.

music

In addition to the singles Scream for More , UR (My Love) , Désenchantée , Mon Coeur Résiste Encore and Libertine , all of which can be assigned to dance music, there are also more poppy songs, such as Head Down or the, alongside other dance tracks Ballad Magical Love . The title of the album is probably due to the different musical styles ("different" = English, means "different"). What is striking about the lyrics is the frequent occurrence of the "you salutation", of which most actions can be assigned to the topics of love and other togetherness. There are also French-language versions of the songs Scream for More , In Your Eyes and Head Down ( Mon Coeur Résiste Encore , Nos Regards Qui m'Enflamment and Ne Baisse Pas La Tête ).

Track list

There are two different versions of the album Different . The original version published in 2002 and the re-edition. The two versions differ mainly in the title list; While the original version of the song Libertine is not available, but the originals of In Your Eyes and Scream for More , it is available on the re-edition (the one known in Germany , Austria and Switzerland ).
