Philip James Younghusband (born August 4, 1987 in Ashford ) is a former English - Filipino football player who played in his youth in the academy of Chelsea FC and also completed games for the first team. He is also active for the Philippine Azkals , the national soccer team of the Philippines , of which he is the record player and record scorer.

Life

Younghusband was born in Ashford, Middlesex , England to a British and a Filipina son. He is the younger brother of the Filipino soccer player James Younghusband .

He was the top scorer of the youth team in the 2003/04 season and ran for the substitute team for the first time in November 2004. In the 2005/06 season Younghusband was 21 times for the Chelsea reserves in the squad, played 18 times and scored five goals. He also appeared on one occasion as a substitute for the Chelsea youth team. In August 2007 it was awarded to the Danish Esbjerg fB , from where he returned in January 2008.

In early 2005, the Philippine Football Federation was made aware of the Younghusbands by an unknown Playstation 2 player because he found out that they are of Filipino descent. He and his older brother James were eventually called up to the Southeast Asian Games team.

In the summer of 2008, Younghusband's contract with Chelsea ended.

After a year at the Filipino club San Beda Red Lions , he was under contract with his brother at the then Meralco Manila from the beginning of 2012 to 2017 , until they joined league rivals Davao Aguilas . Since its dissolution in 2018, Younghusband has been without a contract.
