Philetairos (poet)

Philetairos was an Attic poet of the "middle" comedy . He lived in the 4th century BC. Chr.

According to the Dikaiarchos and the Suda , Philetairos was the son of the famous poet Aristophanes . He won immediately after Anaxandrides and before Eubulus in the Lenae competition . In the Suda, 21 pieces are ascribed to him, of which 13 or possibly only 11 titles have survived. Five titles suggest myth travesties . 20 short fragments have been preserved from the pieces, which often caricature contemporary contemporaries.
