Philip Florent de Puisieux
Philip Florent de Puisieux (born November 28, 1713 in Meaux , † October 1772 in Paris ) was a French lawyer, journalist, translator and ambassador to France.
Live and act
He translated and anonymously published a large number of Latin texts into French, Italian and English. His collaboration with the works of his wife, née Madeleine d'Arsant, is not clearly determined, but very likely. As far as we know today, Madeleine d'Arsant de Puisieux is also attributed the texts with the title La Femme n'est pas inférieure à l'homme (1750) and Le Triomphe des dames (1751), which for a long time were regarded as her husband's productions . Philip Florent de Puisieux was a lawyer at the Paris Parlement , but also a writer and ambassador of France in Switzerland, ambassadeur de France en Suisse . His wife had a love affair with Denis Diderot .
