Philip "Phil" Jimenez (born July 12, 1970 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American comic artist and writer.

Life

Jimenez grew up in Los Angeles and Orange County before studying art at the New York School of Visual Design . After completing his studies, he began working as a professional comic artist for the DC-Comics publishing house in 1991 . His first work there was the four-part miniseries War of the Gods .

This was followed by various work as a guest artist on series such as Batman , mini-series such as Tempest (1996), JLA / Titans (1999) and Infinite Crisis (2006) and finally, from 2000 to 2003, a three-year run on the traditional series Wonder Woman , which he both wrote as well as drew.

Jimenez drew series such as Spider-Man and X-Men for Marvel Comics . His work on Spider-Man also gave Jimenez an engagement as a "hand double" in the movie Spider-Man , in which he doubled the main actor Toby Maguire in the scene in which he designs his Spider-Man costume with quick finger strokes .

The popularity of Jimenez's work has garnered him notoriety in the form of articles in influential art and entertainment magazines such as Entertainment Weekly , The Advocate and Instinct and Out .
