Philip Pargeter

Philip Pargeter (born June 13, 1933 in Wolverhampton ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in Birmingham .

Life

Philip Pargeter was ordained a priest on February 21, 1959 and was incardinated in the clergy of the diocese of Birmingham . John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Birmingham and titular bishop of Valentiniana on November 20, 1989 .

The Archbishop of Birmingham, Maurice Noël Léon Couve de Murville , gave him episcopal ordination on February 21 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Geoffrey Burke , auxiliary bishop at Salford , and Joseph Gray , bishop of Shrewsbury .

On July 31, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.

Philip Pargeter is Grand Officer of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem .
