Philipp Bayer (doctor)

Philipp Anton Bayer (born December 19, 1791 in Bamberg , † June 11, 1832 in Erlangen ) was a German physician .

Life

From the winter semester of 1810/11 onwards, Philipp Anton Bayer studied medicine at the University of Erlangen and from then on worked as an assistant at the Institutum clinicum. Bayer was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. In 1815 he settled as a general practitioner in Erlangen and in 1816 as an ophthalmologist in Nuremberg. In July 1822 he became a scientific assistant at the clinical institute in Erlangen, from 1825 to 1826 its acting director and on November 2, 1826 associate professor of obstetrics. In 1828 he founded the first birthplace in Erlangen. On March 30, 1828 he became director of this maternity hospital.

Philipp Anton Bayer was a member of the Physico-Medical Society Erlangen and was born on August 26, 1818 with the academic surname Euthymus under the matriculation no. Admitted to the Leopoldina as a member in 1073 .
