Orter started on January 24, 2010 for the first time in the second-rate Continental Cup , where he has won two competitions so far, and made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup in February 2012 . Orter did not finish his first World Cup race, the following day he finished 13th in the team sprint together with Mario Stecher . Philipp Orter won World Cup points for the first time on January 17, 2014, finishing 24th at the World Cup in Seefeld, Austria . In the final ranking of the 2013/14 World Cup season , he finished 65th with 15 points.
Philipp Orter is a four-time junior world champion. In 2012 in Erzurum he became world champion with the Austrian team, in Val di Fiemme in 2014 the Carinthian won all three world championship titles.
At the Austrian championships in Eisenerz / Ramsau in February 2014, Orter also won the Austrian championship title in the junior class.
