Philipp Wilhelm Virdung von Hartung
Philipp Wilhelm Virdung von Hartung (* 1664 ; † April 1, 1708 in Würzburg ) was a German medic and botanist.
Life
Philipp Wilhelm Virdung von Hartung studied medicine and received his doctorate from Heidelberg University .
From September 6, 1689, Philipp Wilhelm taught as the successor to his father Hieronymus Conrad Virdung von Hartung as professor of medicine and botany at the University of Würzburg. From 1691 to 1692 and from 1694 to 1695 he was dean of the medical faculty and during this time he received his doctorate for three medical students. In December 1700 he became a garrison doctor in Würzburg.
His successor at the University of Würzburg was the physician Damian Adolph Dercum .
