Philippe Drogoz

Philippe Drogoz (* 1937 in Berck ) is a French composer.

Drogoz studied mathematics from 1955 to 1958 and also studied music at the Toulouse Conservatory. Until 1968 he was a student of André Jolivet , Jean Rivier and Olivier Messiaen at the Conservatoire de Paris . In 1967 he won the Second Grand Prix de Rome .

From 1969 to 1975 he taught at the Bobigny Conservatory. Since 1970 he has been a professor at the Montreul Conservatory and director of the Atelier de recherche musicale . From 1968 to 1975 he belonged to the GERM group, a formation of composers and musicians. With Eugénie Kuffler he founded the avant-garde cabaret duo 010 . He composes works for chamber music, music for films and radio plays (with Georges Perec, among others ) and several operas.
