Philippe Lefebvre (theologian)

Philippe Lefebvre OP (* 1960 ) is a Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1982 to 1986 he attended the ENS Paris (Maîtrise de lettres classiques Agrégation de lettres classiques). From 1986 to 1988 he was a lecturer at the University of Grenoble ( Diplôme d'études approfondies de lettres classiques). From 1988 to 1990 he did research as a scholarship holder at the Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres at the École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem and began a doctoral thesis . From 1990 to 1991 he was a teacher in preparatory classes in Poitiers . In 1991 he joined the Dominicans (province of France). From 1992 to 1995 he studied theology at the Université Catholique de Lille . In 1993 he gave the Thèse de lettres classiques at the University of Paris IV to Marguerite Harl : Salomon, le temple et le palais (3 R 6-7th Septante et texts Massorétique) . From 1995 to 1997 he obtained the Baccalauréat canonique in theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of Lille. DEA of theology at the Faculté de théologie catholique de Strasbourg . After being ordained a priest in June 1997, he taught from 1997 to 1998 at the Freiburg Faculty of Theology and the École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem. Every year (1998 - 2005) he gave classes in March – April at the École biblique et archéologique française de Jérusalem. From 1998 to 2002 he lived in the monastery in Rennes and taught at the Rennes seminary and at the Faculté de théologie d'Angers. From 2002 to 2004 he lived in the monastery in Lille, was a tutor of the school brothers and taught in the monastery, at the seminary in Lille and from 2004 to 2005 at the Institut Catholique de Paris . Since October 2005 he has been Professor of the Old Testament at the University of Friborg .
