Philippe Lehman

Philippe Lehman became known as a graffiti artist in Paris in the 1980s under the pseudonym Bando . In the 1990s he became a music producer and founded several music labels that mainly produced deep funk .

Philippe Lehman comes from the family who founded the investment bank Lehman Brothers . His father was an art collector, his sister is a painter.

In the 1980s, Lehman brought graffiti art from New York to Paris. After the turn of the millennium, his works were shown in exhibitions.

In 1991 Lehman founded the record label “Pure Records” with Aldo Rosati in Paris , on which they released raw funk and soul pieces. In the mid-1990s, Lehman went to New York, where he and Gabriel Roth launched the Desco Records label in 1996 , which lasted until 2000. Until 2003 Lehman then operated the label "Soul Fire" and then "Truth & Soul".
