Phillip Gwynne

Phillip Gwynne (born in Melbourne in 1958 ) is an Australian writer .

Life

Gwynn grew up in South Australia . He had to end a professional career in Australian football due to an injury. He then studied marine biology at James Cook University . After graduating, he worked for the Northern Territory Fisheries Authority . Long stays abroad took him to Thailand , where he worked as a teacher, and to Belgium , where he worked as a computer programmer.

After his return to Australia, Gwynne attended a seminar with the children's and youth author Libby Gleeson and subsequently began to write books in this genre himself. His first work Deadly, Unna? from 1998 received several awards and was made into a film under the title Australian Rules 2002. In 2008 Gwynne first published a detective novel called The Build Up .

Gwynne lives with his family in the Blue Mountains in the Australian state of New South Wales .
