Phlebology

The Phlebology (via the stem phleb from Greek. Φλέψ Phleps , blood vessel, ' "vein", Vein', and -logie , teaching ') is a medical specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease is concerned, in particular of venous diseases such as inflammation of the veins ( phlebitis ), varicose veins (also called varices ) and hemorrhoids . The term phlebology was coined by Raymond Tournay (1893–1984).

Phlebology generally overlaps with angiology in relation to vascular diseases .
