history
In 1864 Ludwig Cabinet , Carl Haack, Emil Hornig and M. Dutkiewicz, all members of the “Photographische Gesellschaft” (PhG) in Vienna, founded the journal Photographische Correspondenz , which soon became internationally known.
In the course of its publication, the magazine had various additional titles. From 1864 to 1870 this was "technical, artistic and commercial communication". During this time the magazine was editorially supervised and published by Ludwig Wardrobe. From 1871 to 1884 the magazine was under the editorial and editing direction of Emil Hornig. During this period she received the additional title “Organ of the photographic society in Vienna. Monthly magazine for photography and related subjects ”. From 1885 to 1904 the addition was changed to "Journal for Photography and Photomechanical Processes" and was under the editorial and editing direction of Ludwig Cabinet.
In 1962 the journal Photography and Science was absorbed into the photographic correspondence .
In 1971 the magazine ceased to appear after more than 100 years for economic reasons.
