Christoph Hönerlage

Christoph Hönerlage is a German church musician and composer.

Life

Christoph Hönerlage studied Catholic theology in Paderborn and Vienna , church music and music education in Regensburg and Gregorian chant in Munich . As a cantor and lecturer for church music, he was responsible for the liturgy-musical training and practice in the Archbishop's seminary Collegium Borromaeum Freiburg and at the specialist academy for the training of community officers in Freiburg. At the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg , Christoph Hönerlage had a teaching position for Gregorian chant, German liturgical singing (Catholic) and liturgical singing (ev.). In 2016 he was appointed professor for Gregorian chant and liturgical singing at the University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education in Regensburg. Shortly afterwards he did his doctorate at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in the field of Gregorian chant .

Hönerlage was a member of the commission for the redesign of the diocesan share (Archdiocese Freiburg / Diocese Rottenburg-Stuttgart ) in the new praise of God . He is secretary of the International Society for the Study of Gregorian Chant ( AISCGre ).
