The Physio Academy in Wremen is a non-profit subsidiary of the German Association for Physiotherapy . (ZVK) The Physio-Akademie is an educational institution and a scientific institute. It employs around 20 people in the areas of advanced training, research and development. It cooperates with universities and scientific institutions at home and abroad and works with the ZVK on issues relating to the professionalization of German physiotherapy. She supports a network of physical therapy practices to promote preventive training activities.

Advanced and advanced training

The Physio-Akademie offers, mostly in cooperation with the specialized working groups of the ZVK, further education and training for physiotherapists. She works in the field of manual therapy with Teesside University in Middlesbrough . A binational master’s course is being organized with this university. Furthermore, advanced and advanced training, z. B. in the field of animal physiotherapy, neuro-rehabilitation or fall prevention. The academy cooperates with Hochschule 21 as part of the dual bachelor's degree program offered there. The Physio-Akademie organizes symposia on physiotherapeutic and interdisciplinary topics throughout Germany, and since 2004, together with the Physiotherapy of the University Hospital Göttingen, a research symposium that offers physiotherapists a forum for methodological and technical-content discussions on a scientific level.

In 2006 the Physio-Akademie published the “Handbook for standardized measurement of results”, which supports physiotherapy practices in evaluating therapies. In addition, several international assessment procedures were translated into German.

The Physio-Akademie advises on the development of study programs, in quality assurance of technical college education (on behalf of the interest group to ensure the quality of education at the German schools for physiotherapy (ISQ)) and in the planning of research and evaluation projects.

The Physio-Akademie is the seat of the ZVK Foundation for the promotion of research and evaluation in physiotherapy and the clearing house guidelines of the ZVK.

Since 2010 the Physio-Akademie has also been the headquarters of the German Center for Evidence-Based Physiotherapy (CEPB) and thus a partner of the Center of Evidence-Based Physiotherapy at The George Institute of International Health in Sydney .

In 2010, the Physio-Akademie set up an ethics committee on behalf of the German Association for Physiotherapy , which gives German physiotherapists the opportunity to have research projects in which people participate examined for ethical aspects.
