The Blue-green roll neck Bock ( Phytoecia caerulea ) is a beetle from the family of longhorn beetles (Cerambycidae) and the subfamily Lamiinae . The scientific name can be confused with Phytoecia coerulescens .

description

The beetles are 8 to 12 millimeters long. They are metallic green to blue or blue-violet, in a south-eastern variant the square pronotum has a red spot in the center. The head and the pronotum are protruding, the wing covers are hairy. The hair is light and does not cover the body color.

Occurrence

They are common in areas on dry grassland and roadsides.

Way of life

The larvae develop in cruciferous stems .
