Pia Olsen Dyhr
Pia Olsen Dyhr (born November 30, 1971 in Vallensbæk ) is a Danish politician of the Socialistisk Folkeparti . On February 13, 2014, she was elected party leader. For the first time in the party's history, no formal vote was necessary for the presidential election, as she was the only candidate.
Life
After attending school, she began studying political science at the University of Copenhagen in 1992 . During her studies she began her political engagement in the Socialistisk Folkeparti (SF) and was chairman of their youth organization Socialistisk Folkepartis Ungdom between 1996 and 1998 . In 1999 she published the book Kvinder ind i eliten - EU, køn og democi . In 2000 she became an environmental policy employee at the Society for Nature Conservation (Danmarks Naturfredningsforening) and was then coordinator for international affairs from 2003 to 2006 and vice-chair of Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke (MS), a society for international cooperation, from 2002 to 2004.
Pia Olsen Dyhr was then political coordinator of CARE International in Denmark between 2006 and 2007 and at the same time chairwoman of a forum for sustainable development consisting of 92 groups .
After she ran for a seat in the Folketing several times without success in various constituencies and was a temporary substitute representative in Parliament between November and December 2006, she was elected member of the Folketing for the first time in the Folketing election in 2007 and has since represented the interests of the constituency of Nordsjællands Storkreds .
On October 3, 2011, Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt appointed her Minister for Trade and Investment in the newly formed government of Denmark. On August 9, 2013, she moved to the Ministry of Transport and at the same time moved up to the important coalition committee. With the end of the three-party coalition on January 30, 2014, she left the cabinet.
