Pia Riva (born April 4, 1935 in Piovene Rocchette , Vicenza Province ) is a former Italian ski racer .

Career

The giant slalom and downhill specialist won the Italian national championship five times in each of these disciplines .

When she took part in a major international competition for the first time, she finished 4th in the downhill at the 1958 Alpine World Ski Championships in Bad Gastein . Her greatest sporting success was winning the silver medal in the downhill at the 1962 World Ski Championships in Chamonix, France .

She took part in the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley and 1964 in Innsbruck , but could not win a medal there.

In 1964 she won the Silver Belt .

After the end of her career , she emigrated to the United States in 1964 .
