The Piast GmbH is the largest Drageehersteller in Germany and is one of Katjes International . The company's headquarters are in Forchheim, Upper Franconia.

history

The company Piast was 1923 in Brieg ( Brzeg ) in Silesia founded. After the Second World War , Anton Hofmann initiated a new start in production in Forchheim, Upper Franconia. From 1948 chocolate could be produced there regularly.

In 1992 Cadbury Schweppes joined the company. In 1998 Piasten took over the distribution of Cadbury products in Germany. At the beginning of 2003, Piasten opened the Café Piasten on Apothekenstrasse in Forchheim, selling chocolates. The café closed a few months later. From 2005 Piasten was independent again through a management buy-out ; the sales cooperation with Cadbury was retained. In autumn 2014, Piasten was taken over by Katjes International .

Products
