Pierced from Within is the third full-length album by the American death metal band Suffocation .
Differences to previous albums
The quality of the recordings on this album has been improved compared to the older albums. Individual instruments can be clearly heard here, as was sometimes not the case with the previous albums. The song Breeding the Spawn , from the 1993 album of the same name, was re-recorded for Pierced from Within. Pierced form Within is Suffocation's first album without Mike Smith on drums, Doug Bohn does his part. Smith only returned to the band at the reunion in 2003.
The album was re-released in 2003 along with Effigy of the Forgotten .
Music genre
With this album, the band has largely remained true to their style from the previous albums. The song Torn into Enthrallment, however, begins, unusual for Suffocation, with a clear guitar solo .
