Pierino Albini

Pierino Albini (born December 25, 1885 in Arconate , † March 17, 1953 in Saronno ) was an Italian cyclist .

He achieved his greatest successes before the First World War . In addition to a few smaller races, which he also won, he recorded podium places in some stages of the Tour de France . In 1910 he won the Milan-Varese race and also won a stage in the Giro d'Italia . Two years later he took 3rd place at the Giro.

In 1914 he was able to win two stages in the Giro and took second place in the final bill. In this race only 8 drivers finished. However, after the overall winner, Alfonso Calzolari , he was the biggest deficit in Giro history with 1h 57 '26 ".

His career ended in 1919.
