Piero Fornasetti

Piero Fornasetti (born November 10, 1913 in Milan , Italy , † October 1988 there ) was an Italian painter , sculptor , craftsman and interior designer .

Life

Piero Fornasetti received a scholarship from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in 1930 . After studying painting for two years, he was expelled from school, but continued to work as a painter in Milan. In 1933 he took part in an exhibition for the first time. At the Milan Triennale he exhibited painted silk scarves.

Fornasetti spent the years 1943 to 1946 in exile in Switzerland.

In 1959 he received the Neiman Marcus Award.

In the course of his life, Fornasetti created more than 11,000 different art objects. His trademark was the woman's face, which he used in the series "Tema e Variazioni".
