Piero Lissoni (* 1956 , in Seregno, Italy ) is an Italian designer .

Life

Piero Lissoni was born in 1956 in Seregno, Italy. He studied architecture in Milan . Then Lissoni works for Molteni and Lema as a designer. Since 1985 Lissoni has been working as an art director and designer for a well-known kitchen manufacturer. In 1986 he founded his own studio together with Nicoletta Canesi. There he still employs many architects, graphic artists and product designers. Ten years later the designer opened his second office called "Graph.x" in 1996. In between, Lissoni won more and more well-known companies for himself, for which he worked as a designer but also as an art director.

Works

Piero Lissoni's works mainly include exhibitions, showrooms and furniture. Lissoni is also active in graphic design . Well-known designs by the designer are, for example, the interior design of hotels such as the Monaco & Grand Canal in Venice and the Bentley Design Hotel in Istanbul . Among other things, Lissoni designed the corporate identity of the fashion designer Elie Taharie. His "S44" sled-base chair is well known in product design.

Piero Lissoni designed the Lissoni Beach House Residences, Lissoni Beach Villas and Lissoni Ocean Villas on Dellis Cay . The groundbreaking was on June 20, 2008 and completion was scheduled for early 2010. At the beginning of 2010 the company filed for bankruptcy and construction work ceased. At the beginning of 2011 the project was canceled due to financial problems.

In 2012 Piero Lissoni designed the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam and in 2016 the Lifestyle Hotel Roomers Baden-Baden.

Awards

Piero Lissoni himself, but also his designs, have received several awards. In 1999 the designer received the "red dot award" for his Supersoft armchair with armrests. Numerous awards followed in 2005. Lissoni was inducted into the NY Hall of Fame of Interior Design. In the same year, Lissoni received the "Elle Décor International design Award". In 2006 he was named designer of the year at the "World Superyachts Award".
