Pierre Ailleret

Pierre Ailleret (born March 10, 1900 in Vienne-en-Arthies , † August 1, 1996 ) was a French electrical engineer .

Life

Pierre Ailleret studied at the École polytechnique , the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and the École supérieure d'électricité . In 1929 he became a professor at the National Institute of Agronomy and from 1938 Ailleret taught at the École Supérieure d'Électricité. In 1930 he became director of the Union for Industry and Electricity . In 1946 Pierre Ailleret was one of the founders of Électricité de France (EDF), whose research department he headed. Ailleret was Vice General Manager from 1958 to 1967.

His son Francois Ailleret became general manager of the EDF.
