Pierre Béguin

Pierre Béguin (born November 19, 1903 in La Chaux-de-Fonds , † January 23, 1978 in Lausanne ) was a Swiss journalist .

Béguin was editor-in-chief of the Gazette de Lausanne and its director from 1959 to 1966. He «was one of the best editorials in French-speaking Switzerland and was strongly committed to freedom of the press». In 1950 he published a history of Switzerland in World War II entitled Le Balcon sur l'Europe . He was a leader in the TSR telecast ouverte Table . From 1963 to 1977 he was a member of the board of directors of the Swiss Dispatch Agency (from 1968 vice-president and member of the committee, from 1970 president).
