Pierre Hauck

Pierre Hauck (* 1976 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German legal scholar .

Career

Hauck initially studied law from 1997 to 2001 at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen , where he passed his first state examination in law. During this time he worked as a student assistant at Walter Gropp . He was also his doctoral supervisor during the preparation of his dissertation in the years 2001 to 2003; Hauck also passed the second state examination in law during this period.

Hauck moved to the University of Sussex , where he completed a postgraduate course in international criminal law and comparative criminal law from 2005 to 2006 . After his return he worked as a research assistant until 2008, in the year of his return he did his doctorate at the University of Giessen and became a Dr. jur. In 2007 he was awarded an LL.M. International Criminal Law ”.

The elaboration of the habilitation thesis on the subject of "Secret criminal prosecution and protection of privacy" took place in the years 2007 to 2011. During this period, Hauck also worked for various other faculties in various positions.

In 2010, Hauck received a DFG research grant as a visiting researcher at the University of Oxford (UK) with Professor Andrew Ashworth . In 2011 he received the Dr. Herbert Stolzenberg Prize from the University of Giessen for his habilitation thesis . After taking over the chairs for criminal law and criminal procedure law at the University of Giessen and criminal law, criminal procedure law and legal philosophy at the University of Trier in the winter semester 2011 and summer semester 2012 , he was appointed to the chair for criminal law, criminal procedure law and legal philosophy in the winter semester 2012/2013 of the University of Trier. October 1, 2018 took Hauck in the Chair of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at the University of Giessen the Chair .

Hauck is a member of the DFG network "The role of comparative criminal law in the Europeanization of criminal justice".
