Pierre Jean Schoen (*  1967 in Belfort ) is a French organist . He is the cotitular organist on the organ of Albi Cathedral , the largest baroque organ in France.

Life

Schoen was born in Belfort in 1967 . He first learned the cello at the École nationale de musique in Tarbes , before he began taking organ lessons from Darasse's student Gilbert Verge-Borderolle at the age of 12 . From 1984 he studied at the Conservatoire national in Toulouse with Xavier Darasse , Michel Bouvard and Jan Willem Jansen . At the same time, he studied musicology at the Université de Toulouse-Le Mirail . In 1988 he received the CAPES and in 1990 the Agrégation .

From 1986 to 1990 he was titular organist of the Ste-Bernadette de Tarbes church . In 1995 he was appointed organist for the organ in Albi Cathedral and St-Salvy d'Albi .
