Werner Rosenbaum

Werner Rosenbaum (born July 23, 1927 , † July 27, 2008 ) was a German hockey player who twice participated in the Olympic Games and won a bronze medal.

Werner Rosenbaum played for HC Wacker Munich . The attacking player made his debut in 1951 in the German national hockey team . At the Olympic Games in 1952, the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the later Olympic champions from the Netherlands. Four years later, in addition to Rosenbaum, Eberhard Ferstl , another Wacker player, was part of the German Olympic team. Rosenbaum scored a goal against New Zealand at the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne . The German team reached the semi-finals, where the team lost to the Indian team; In the bronze medal game, the Germans won 3-1 against the British.

For this he and the German Olympic hockey team were awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf on January 21, 1957.

Werner Rosenbaum played a total of 43 international matches from 1951 to 1959.
