Pierre Ngendandumwe

Pierre Ngendandumwe ( 1930 - January 15, 1965 ) was a Burundian politician . The Hutu was a member of the Union for National Progress . He was elected Prime Minister on June 18, 1963 and held this office until April 6, 1964, before being re-elected Prime Minister on January 7, 1965. Eight days after starting his second term in office, he was murdered by a Rwandan Tutsi who is believed to have worked for the US embassy in Burundi. His assassination re-escalated the conflict between Hutu and Tutsi.
