Pierre Paul Poilecot

Pierre Paul Poilecot (* 1950 - June 21, 2012 in Baillarguet ) was a French ecologist and botanist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Poilecot ".

life and work

Poilecot taught at the forest school of Bouaké (Ivory Coast), later worked as part of the MAB-UNESCO project for the Comoé National Park and was director of the herbarium of the CIRAD in Montpellier (ALF). Poilecot published numerous articles in professional journals, including many papers on African national parks and identification works for African grasses. He died of a heart attack in Baillarguet near Montpellier at the age of 62.
