Pierre Tack

Pierre Armand Tack (born December 18, 1818 in Kortrijk , West Flanders , Belgium , † April 11, 1910 ) was a Belgian politician of the Catholic Party .

biography

After attending school, he studied law and after completing his studies not only worked as a lawyer , but also as a brewery entrepreneur in Kortrijk.

He began his national political career as a candidate for the Catholic Party in 1858 when he was first elected a member of the Chamber of Deputies , in which he represented the interests of the Kortrijk arrondissement for fifty years until 1908 .

In addition, he was from 1867 to 1870 aldermen (alderman) of the city of Kortrijk. After a brief activity as finance minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Jules Joseph d'Anethan in 1870, he was again alderman of Kortrijk from 1872 to 1907.

On November 9, 1897, he was awarded the honorary title of Minister of State for his political services .
