Pierrebraunia brauniorum is a species of plant in the genus Pierrebraunia from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet honors the discoverer Pierre Josef Braun and his wife Beate Braun.

Pierrebraunia brauniorum grows individually with upright, short columnar, yellowish gray-green to gray-green shoots that rarely sprout at the base. These reach a height of 30 to 70 centimeters and a diameter of 7 to 10 centimeters. The 4 to 5 (rarely 6) ribs are 3 to 3.2 inches high and about 3 inches wide. The areoles on it are initially a bit felty and later form a continuous band on the edge of the ribs. The needle-shaped thorns are yellowish to brownish. The single central spine is up to 2.8 inches long. The 5 to 6 radial spines are protruding to radiating and up to 2.1 centimeters long.
The squat, tubular, pale pink to whitish-pink flowers appear near the apex and hardly open. They are up to 3 inches long and 15 to 20 millimeters in diameter. The pericarpel is greenish. The somewhat spherical to short egg-shaped fruits are dark wine-red, contain a juicy pink-red pulp and have a diameter of 3 to 3.5 centimeters.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Pierrebraunia brauniorum is widespread in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais in the high elevations of the Serra do Espinhaço and on rocks in the Campo Rupestre . The first description was published in 1999 by Eddie Esteves Pereira (* 1939).
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
