Diederich Pies (1590–1666)

Diederich Pies (* 1590 in Kranenburg , † around 1666 in Mannebach ) was a Palatinate-Neuburg and Imperial regimental field shearers . He is considered the founder of modern chiropractic and the progenitor of the Pies family of bone tinkers in Hunsrück . The word piesacken , which is still used today , can possibly be traced back to this physician and the Pies family of doctors that he founded. The year of death 1666 is uncertain, but is considered the earliest possible date. Pies' parents were Willem II. Pies and Johanna de Rode van Heeckeren.
