Aysel Gürel
Aysel Gürel (born February 7, 1929 in Denizli , † February 17, 2008 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish actress and poet .
She studied Turkish literature and Turkish Studies at the University of Istanbul .
In 1983 she wrote the text for the Turkish contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest "Opera". The interpreter Çetin Alp achieved the worst result of all Turkish contributions, zero points. In 1991 she wrote the text of a Turkish contribution again. With “İki Dakika” the performers İzel Çeliköz , Reyhan Karaca and Can Uğurluer reached 12th place.
Many of their lyrics were by famous artists like Sezen Aksu (eg. Değer mi? , Hadi bakalım , Ne kavgam Bitti, ne sevdam sung) and became big hits. It has Hadi bakalım managed in the early 1990s in the European charts. She has also written some song compositions such as B. Sertab Erener 's hit Yanarım . She also worked with artist Tarkan in the 1990s and 2000s and was involved in the writing of several song lyrics.
She is the mother of the Turkish actresses Müjde Ar and Mehtap Ar. She died of chronic bronchitis.
