Pietro Cataneo

Pietro Cataneo (* 1510 probably in Siena ; † 1569 or 1574 ) was an Italian Renaissance architect , mathematician and military engineer.

Cataneo was a student of Baldassare Peruzzi (1481–1536). He is best known for his work I Quattro Primi Libri di Architettura (1554), which deals with the design of fortified cities, church and civil architecture. The work has particularly influenced Andrea Palladio .
