Piguet Galland & Cie SA was created in April 2011 from the merger of the two private banks Franck Galland & Cie and Piguet & Cie.
The private bank Banque Piguet & Cie was founded in 1856 by Louis Michod in Yverdon as Banque Michod. In 1888 his son-in-law Alfred Piguet took over management of the company. At the same time, the institute was transformed into Banque Alfred Piguet & Cie. renamed. The banking house was owned by the Piguet family for four generations before the Banque Cantonale Vaudoise became the majority owner in 1991.
The banking house Banque Franck Galland & Cie was created in 2003 through the merger of Banque Galland, founded by Alfred Galland in Lausanne in 1889, and Banque Franck from Geneva, founded in 1965 by Alain Franck and owned by the Johnson Financial Group with headquarters in Racine since 1976 , Wisconsin. In 2010, Banque Cantonale Vaudoise took over all outstanding shares.
