Pilviškiai
Pilviškiai is a miestelis in the northeast of the Lithuanian city of Vilkaviškis , near the Kaunas - Kybartai railway line . The place is the center of the body of elders (Pilviškės district) of the Vilkaviškis district community . 2305 inhabitants live here (as of 2011). In Pilviškės there is a Catholic Trinity Church (since 1947), a Methodist Church, a Santakos high school in Pilviškės, a library and a post office (LT-70085). There is also a company of the Lithuanian group Kauno grūdai (an elevator was built here), there is a clay deposit at the clay deposit.
history
Pilviškės village was founded in the 16th century. That was the beginning of the crossing of the Sudau Forest at the confluence of the Pilvė and Šešupė rivers . A road went through Pilviškiai from Kaunas to Prussia . In 1536 the place received Magdeburg rights under the privilege of Queen Bona Sforza .
