Pin Malakul

Mom Luang Pin Malakul ( Thai หม่อมหลวง ปิ่น มาลา กุล , born October 24, 1903 in Bangkok ; † October 5, 1995 there ) was a Thai educator, writer and politician.

Life

education

Pin was born on October 24, 1903, the sixth child of Mom Rajawongse Pia Malakul and Than Phuying Sa-ngiam Malakul . He had 12 other siblings. With nearly seven years, he came in 1910 to the boys' school Suan Kulab-Wittayalai School ( Thai : โรงเรียน สวน กุหลาบ วิทยาลัย 1910 he came to. On March 7, 1922, he reached London, where he studied Pali and Sanskrit at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies. In England he made friends with other Thai exchange students, including Prince Dulbhakara Worawan , Visuddhi Krairiksh and Phanom Thephasdin , whom he already knew from his time at the Royal Page School. 1924 Pin was at Brasenose College of Oxford University accepted where he continued his Oriental Studies in 1928 with a Bachelor of Arts graduated. He was then accepted for education, also in Oxford, where he received his Master of Arts on October 15, 1931 .

Career

After his return from Europe in 1931, Pin became a teacher of mathematics, Thai and English at Chulalongkorn University .

In 1946, Pin became State Secretary for the Ministry of Education. LM Pin was Minister of Education from 1957 to 1969 and Minister of Education from September 1957 to October 1958. Later he was a board member of UNESCO .

In 1987 he was named a national artist for his literary work .

Private

On March 7, 1932, Pin married Dussadeemala Krairiksh , the daughter of Chao Phraya Mahithon (Lo Krairiksh) and Than Phuying Klip Mahithon.
