Pinheiro is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Pinheiro belongs to the district Penafiel in the district of Porto . The community had an area of 4.8 km² and 2415 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013 the municipalities of Pinheiro, Portela and Paredes were merged to form the new municipality of Termas de São Vicente . Pinheiro is the seat of this newly formed community.
