Portela is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .

Portela is part of the county Penafiel in the district of Porto . The community had an area of ​​4 km² and 1269 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Portela, Paredes and Pinheiro merged to form the new municipality of Termas de São Vicente .
