Piotr Witkowski

Piotr Witkowski (born December 12, 1988 in Gdańsk ) is a Polish actor .

Life

Witkowski studied from 2007 at the State University for Film, Television and Theater in Łódź . In 2011 he completed his acting training there with a diploma. In 2010 he was engaged at the Teatr Chorea in Łódź during his training. Since 2012 he has been a permanent member of the Teatr Wybrzeże in Gdańsk.

His stage roles there included u. a. Mesin in The Slave Island and Dimas in Triumph of Love , respectively by Pierre Carlet de Marivaux , Mortimer in Maria Stuart , Doctor Cajus in The Merry Wives of Windsor , Alexander Wat in the play Broniewski by Radosław Paczocha and the roles of Hippolyte / Turkish soldier / sailor in a stage version of the novel early spring ( Przedwiośnie ) of Stefan Żeromski .

Witkowski had leading and supporting roles in Polish movies and TV series, a. a. in Matka Teresa od kotów (2010; supporting role), in Supermarket (2012; supporting role) and Noc (2013; leading role). In the movie Wałęsa. He played The Man of Hope (2013), a biopic about Lech Wałęsa , directed by Andrzej Wajda , a young shipyard worker. In the Polish feature film Warsaw '44 (2014), the story of two young people whose love was put to the test during the Warsaw Uprising in August 1944, he had a supporting role as a boy with a bucket.

In October 2015 Witkowski starred in the German television film Heimat ist kein Ort on Das Erste in a leading role. He played the young Polish notary Krzysztow, who accompanied the three siblings Inge, Klaus and Uwe on their trip to East Prussia , the home of their father and testator, and who fell in love with Jule, Inge's daughter, played by Karolina Lodyga . Witkowski, who has a basic knowledge of German, was not dubbed in this film, which was shot in German. He spoke in his original voice in German with a Polish accent.

Witkowski lives in Gdańsk.
