The Pirie Peninsula is a narrow and 5 km long peninsula on the north coast of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It separates Jessie Bay in the west from Browns Bay in the east. Your northern end point is Cape Mabel .
Participants of the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition (1902-1904) mapped the peninsula in 1903. Expedition leader William Speirs Bruce named it after James Hunter Harvey Pirie (1878-1965), surgeon and geologist on this expedition.
